Linkage, acceleration

The rod BC is connected to the wall at C and to the rod AB at point B by a pin/hole connection. Point A of the rod AB is gliding along on the horizontal plane with a constant velocity of 6 m/s to the right. As a result, the link AB is rotating counter-clockwise at a rate of 1.386 rad/s and the link BC clockwise at 0.385 rad/s.


  1. Carefully develop the equations for the angular acceleration of the rods AB and BC and indicate briefly how you would solve them ( but don't ).
  2. Assumed you know the angular accelerations of both rods (use any symbols you like for them ). Write down the equation you would use to determine the acceleration of point B.
