Spectrum and energy from sun

Some insects can see UV , snakes can see infra red

A flat plate facing squarely the sun outside earth's atmosphere at the average distance
of earth from sun (149,597,870.7 km) receives

1361 W/m² = solar constant

This amount gets reduced with the inverse of the squared radius and hence at present
time we receive less in the summer and more in the winter (±3%).

It seems to vary slightly during the 11 year solar cycle (0.1%)
