The wall of an oven is made out of two layers of different material sandwiched together as shown below.
Given are :

Temperature on the inner and outer surface : T1 = 1000°C     T3 = 200°C .
Heat conductivities : ka = 0.30 W/(m K)     kb = 0.24 W/(m K)
Thickness of layers : La = 10 cm     Lb = 7 cm

  1. Under steady-state conditions, what is the temperature T2 at the interface between the two layers ?
  2. What is the value of the heat flux Q [W/m²] through the wall ?
